Almost every wine features a Release Price, which is the suggested retail price upon first release—the price a consumer will typically pay at a retail store or direct from the winery, not taking into account any sale prices or wine club member discounts. It is listed in U.S. dollars. When the suggested retail price is not available, we publish the prevailing wholesale price with a standard markup added. (If a price has not yet been set, such as for a wine reviewed pre-release or in a barrel tasting, $NA will be displayed.)
While wine prices do vary by market and may fluctuate over time, release prices can serve as a useful guide.
